Purple Lights Nights in Abbotsford and Mission is supported by many of our community, criminal justice, and social service partners. Throughout October, PLN remembers domestic violence victims who have lost their lives, supports those who survived, and gives hope to those who still live with abuse. The PLN initiative strives to provide education promoting healthy relationships, increase awareness of intimate partner violence and provide assistance to victims and their families.

Together we will raise awareness, offer support and send a strong message that Intimate Partner Violence has NO Place in our community.

The Violence Against Women in Relationships Committee

Abbotsford and Mission created a Domestic Violence Task Force in 1992 called Violence Against Women In Relationships. VAWIR is a multi-agency effort aimed at improving collaborative responses to intimate partner violence, identifying and addressing service gaps, promoting awareness and education, and enhancing community safety. Purple Lights Nights is a subcommittee of VAWIR.
